Yesterday I started searching for places to go/things to see/hotels in Ireland...I think we're decided on the PLACE for the honeymoon, and that's it. So I'm looking, and looking, and finding out-of-the-way places, and adding them to the list.
First thing to go on the list was a place I wouldn't have considered (if not for an Ireland book my mom got for Will last year): the Murphy's Irish stout brewery, in Cork. There are other places & things we should see, like Blarney Castle, and the Guinness Storehouse
..but we have to see SOMEthing that has "Murphy" in it. 'Cause that'll be my new name, and our (heehee!) identity. And that reminded me of the emails Will and I sent when we first met. When we talked about heritage and families...he sent me a picture of his family crest:
He was so excited to show it to me! I think this should be part of whatever display we choose to put up at the wedding (I don't want any baby books or old photos, but I think our two histories would be awesome!) He said there are 2 crests for the Murphy surname, and this one belongs to his family. The motto below means "conquer or die". I was really proud of myself for understanding that (in Latin!) without looking it up...but then I double-checked myself online. And I was right!
